Cioppino-Inspired Fishers Catch Soup Recipe

If you love cioppino, this version of a healthy fisherman's catch soup is an easy recipe anyone can make. Mesa de Vida's Mediterranean inspired cooking sauce makes quick work of this recipe. It's perfect for a casual dinner party or weeknight dinner.

Makes 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh fish fillets (we suggest cod, halibut, and tilapia) ; or up to 2 lb of a combination of fish and shellfish of your choice (clams, mussels, cooked crab portions, shrimp, or calamari rings)
  • 1 bottle Mesa de Vida Mediterranean Inspired Starter Sauce
  • Optional: 1 sliced or diced onion and additional fresh minced garlic to taste
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup white wine or seafood broth
  • Salt to taste/health needs

Directions

  1. In a large pot or skillet over medium-high heat, layer ingredients in order above
  2. Bring to a simmer, then lower the heat to low and cover
  3. Cook until the fish is tender and flaky, and shellfish is cooked through/opens (20-25 minutes)
  4. Serve straight up, with crusty bread, or over hot cooked pasta and enjoy!
