Bacon and Turkey Tacos Recipe

Level up your at-home taco night with this easy, healthy and super delicious recipe. A little bit of crispy bacon and Mesa de Vida's Latin inspired cooking sauce transform boring ground turkey into a fun and healthy meal in no time!

Makes 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 6-8 slices bacon, chopped (regular, turkey bacon, or plant-based bacon)
  • 1 lb ground turkey (or substitute ground chicken, beef, or plant-based crumble)
  • 1 bottle Mesa de Vida Latin Inspired Cooking Sauce
  • Optional: 1 can rinsed and drained black beans
  • Salt and hot sauce to taste
  • Taco fixings you desire

 

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, when hot add bacon and cook until golden brown. Remove the bacon with spoon and set on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Pour off excess bacon grease, if desired
  2. Add the ground meat, cook until golden brown and crumbled
  3. Add the Mesa de Vida Latin Inspired Cooking Sauce, bacon, canned beans (if using), salt and hot sauce (if using). Bring to a simmer, then lower the heat to low
  4. Cook, stirring occassionally, for 10 minutes
  5. Serve with your favorite taco fixings, or in burritos, or burrito bowls
